A very, very big version of the Almeddan Nightscape image I posted a couple days ago. Just to give you a scope of how big of a scene this is:
There's over 10,000 rocks, and probably over 3000 plants and trees. All of the things in this scene were made via scripting, including the plants and rocks themselves, using random but consistent parameters so they're all different. Even their placement was by randomization, so the scene set itself up (sorta). So that means there's not a single tree in the entire scene that's identical
Well it's okay cuz I let it render overnight. Besides, I am using a very labor intensive material (Vray Dirt) which acts like Ambient Occlusion on pretty much everything, not to mention my global illumination settings are really high cuz otherwise the image looks like this: [link] (test render I did)
Notice how the light material is all pixelly, and how it illuminates the ground isn't uniform
Not to mention this picture has like over 1 million primitives, and some of them like the plane that I used to make the scene is like 500x500 polygons..

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
